About She the People
She the People was formed in March of 2018 with the mission of establishing a national network connecting women of color to transform our democracy. We are elevating and amplifying the voices and power of women of color as leaders, political strategists, organizers, and voters through an inclusive, multiracial coalition driving a new political and cultural era. She the People received broad national attention in April 2019 by holding the first-ever woman-of-color led and centered Presidential Forum. Today, She the People is a 501(c)(4) organization that leads our political engagement work, focusing on voters and electoral strategy. She the People Storied is our affiliated 501(c)(3) charitable organization that focuses on elevating the voices and civic experiences of women of color.

You are organized, energetic, proactive, flexible, and detail oriented. You have strong experience in fund development and are a self-starter and strong team player. You have a positive, can-do attitude, are resourceful and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to move the mission forward.
Job Summary
The Director of Donor Relations will work in close partnership with the President, Advisory Board and staff to raise approximately $1M annually in support for She the People and approximately $2M for She the People Storied.
Reporting to the President, the Director of Donor Relations will be responsible for strategic relationships and fund development projects, systems and administration:
In partnership with the President and Advisory Board, establish separate annual or project fund development goals, strategies and prospect lists for each of the two entities.
Plan and carry out activities to reach fund development goals, leveraging President, staff team and Advisory Board as needed.
Meet with prospects and donors, conduct presentations and share organizations’ mission and impact with confidence, enthusiasm and passion
Prepare President and other staff for prospect and funder meetings, including prospect research; keep funder meeting notes and organize follow up
Steward relationships and manage timely communications with prospects and current funders, including grant acknowledgment and reporting.
Manage donor communication that leverages social media, organizational events, and other opportunities.
Develop clear and compelling proposals, grant reports, donor presentations and donor communications in coordination with key staff and contractors.
Prepare weekly report on development progress against targets that details activities and roles.
Maintain all historical and current prospect and donor data.
Provide logistical support and coordination for donor events including invitations, event registration, venue and contract management, partner communication and follow up with attendees
Recommend new approaches, procedures and processes for continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
Attend, assist and represent She the People at various key fundraising events/functions, speaking engagements, tours, and other programs
Manage She the People Advisory Board and leverage their participation in fundraising activities.
Qualifications
Bachelors required, Masters degree preferred
5+ years prior experience in grantmaking and fund development preferred
Familiarity with Salesforce preferred, knowledge of CRM systems required
Strong interpersonal skills to support the ability to work with internal and external constituents in an effective and professional manner
Organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision along with a willingness to ask questions to clarify assignments
Demonstrable evidence of strong written and verbal communications skills
Use of good judgment and the ability to treat confidential information with discretion
Prior experience supporting the planning and execution of events
Comfortable in a remote work environment

Location
San Francisco Bay Area preferred. Remote position. Travel 20% - 30%.
